Content Protection via DRM
VIDIZMO helps organizations secure their content through the implementation of Digital Rights Management or DRM by allowing access policies for content to be defined in the DRM license so only a specific audience can acquire the license and playback the media. VIDIZMO supports various industry-standard DRM technologies, including Microsoft’s PlayReady, Google’s Widevine and Apple’s Fairplay.
Whenever a viewer accesses content in a portal where DRM is enabled, the encrypted content will not play unless they acquire the license. Based on a user’s request, the licensing server verifies if they are authorized to view the content. Upon successful authorization, the media player will receive the license and key to decrypt the content for the user to be able to play it. Otherwise, the request for access will be rejected. This way, content encryption enables the content to be accessible exclusively by users who possess the authorized license.
In the absence of DRM, users can still utilize VIDIZMO’s authorization policy that allows the uploader to define who can access the media and for how long.
